Migrating over... Who thinks that there should be a Consumer Medical Board?

- Healthcare would be far better in the USA if the pyramid of authority was flipped. There also should be a Consumer Medical Organization and Lobby. Instead of submissive patients, they are proactive Consumers. Not necessarily customers, but consuming.

In Fall 2014, Stanford University had a class online called "Medical Education in the New Millennium." It called for more of a voice for patients, and had a "layperson" watch a surgery. However, it did not call for a Consumer Medical Board, Organization, or Lobby.

If consumers had a voice, the quality would be far better. There are currently 455,000 or more deaths per year in the USA from medical mistakes.

Many people are harmed by "medical professionals," but the professionals have a tight lobby, causing tort reforms which cap out medical malpractice. Those who are "legally" harmed have no way to get anything back from their harms. They essentially become invisible, unseen victims.

With a Consumer Medical Board, complaints can go to this board, and people are no longer laypeople - but the customers who provide demand.

As for why this does not currently exist, is "unknown."
