The Enlightenment Era improved valuing the individual instead of tradition. It emphasized reason, individualism, and skepticism. This discusses John Locke's views that also include natural rights. This era, and John Locke's views, were before the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution. It's this era and its thinkers that lead to these documents.

Christina TaftI seem to have a problem finding Natural Rights anymore discussed fully online. I thought this involved MORE than just life, liberty, and happiness. Also, why are they combining Natural and Legal Rights? Natural is NOT legal. Please stop this era from getting worse. *individualism*
